The Nissan Z series of cars have had a long and varied history. Widely regarded as Japans first for production sports car when released as the Datsun 240Z late in 1969. As time went on, each new Z got bigger and lazier. By the late 80's they were considered a GT cruiser rather than a sports car. The Z33 350Z changed all that, Nissan went back to basics, designing a car that was significantly smaller and lighter than the previous model, a car that put the focus back on driving, much like the original 240Z. The 350Z has now reached the sweet spot; it has a pokey drive train, modern tech and handles well enough to give a Porsche Cayman of the same vintage a run for its money. Japanese sports car bliss.
