Talk about thunder down under, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG sports sedan probably has one of the best V8 sound tracks ever, and its looks make it a timeless classic. With a sophisticated ZF 7 speed auto, it acquitted 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds and will worry a brand new HSV R8. All this and the refinement and luxury of a German Euro express super saloon, never mind that this was $120,000 AUD vehicle when it left the showroom floor.
