It seems like EV sports car startups which humiliate the hypercar elite is not enough. In what is becoming a familiar trend, Faraday Future, (an American based EV carmaker with Chinese funding) is blowing the doors off of A-grade players such as the Ferrari 488 GTB.
What's more, it's not a regular sports car that's causing all the fuss but a family-hauling SUV, ugh! Old Enzo would be turning in his grave.
Video footage shows the Faraday EV SUV taking on a Bentley Bentayga, Tesla Model X P100D and a Ferrari 488 GTB - and win. If it's genuine, it's an impressive feat. That means the Faraday SUV has to best 3.0 seconds for the 0 to 100km/h dash. That's brain-bending pace and puts it up there with a Lamborghini Aventador. Fans of Italian supercars, including myself are crying bitter tears, how can this be? It's an SUV for godsakes!
Whether the as yet un-named Faraday SUV will make it to production is somewhat of an unknown. Financial woes are plaguing Faraday, being short on the cash required to build a factory to construct the SUV, which means its future is in doubt. Here's hoping they can sort it out.
