Italdesign Automobili Speciali Supercar

You have a few spare million in cash to splash and the standard Audi R8 is too povo, while the Lamborghini Huracan is far too common.

What's a self-respecting billionaire to do? But of course, you can throw up to $3,200,000 AUD in chump change at a custom bodied Audi R8 by Italdesign.

Why so much? Do you even have to ask the question, have a look at it, it's sick! This has to be the most bad-ass looking Audi ever.

Founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro, Italdesign has a prestigious history in car design dating back nearly fifty years. Giugiaro is responsible for classics such as the original Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT/GTV, BMW 2300CS, DeTomaso Mangusta, Iso Grifo and the original Lotus Espirit to name a few.

This new masterpiece is called the 'Italdesign Automobili Speciali'. Here's a quote from the Italdesign press release surmising the new car:

"Intended for collectors and visionary enthusiasts, it combines racing car features and performance alongside type-approval for use on normal roads. Developed around a modular chassis in carbon fibre and aluminium, this special car boasts a powerful naturally aspirated 5.2 litre V10 engine which enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.2 seconds, together with a top speed in excess of 330 km/h. The bodywork is entirely in carbon fibre. "

If the Italdesign Automobili Speciali doesn't get your heart racing, nothing will. This has to be the new poster child for the current generation, the modern equivalent of the wild child Lamborghini Countach we all lusted after in the eighties. Five only are to be built by the end of 2017; the Italdesign Automobili Speciali is destined for superstar status.
