1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic: $1.8 Million classic up for sale again

1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic: $1.8 Million classic up for sale again

One of only 15 to receive coachwork from Giovanni Savonuzzi at Ghia and one of only 114 'Otto Vu's ever built, this 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic is as exceedingly rare as it is exceedingly gorgeous. It carries one of the only overhead-valve V8s which Fiat ever made which was completely rebuilt to original specifications during 8 exhausting years of restoration that also saw the transmission renewed, the bodywork perfected, re-chromed and all the dash instruments and gauges restored. It was last sold for $1.8 Million to the esteemed collector Orin Smith. Now it goes under the hammer again through RM Sotheby's

The Supersonic has become recognised as one of Ghia's most seminal designs. Desired by collectors because of the impressive 'Otto Vu' mechanics and beautiful body design, the 8V Supersonic has evolved into one of today's most wanted Italian collectables. It combined rarity, cutting-edge tech specs, and classic coachbuilt beauty.
